_With help from our awesome contributors, the Jamaica Breakfast
Program assists in providing school day breakfasts to 47 schoolkids from one
of the poorest neighborhoods in Savanna La Mar, Jamaica.
In 2004, I was approached by my friend, Charmaine Grant, who asked me if I would help raise funds to feed some needy kids in her neighborhood. She knew that the Cooke Street School was having difficulty supporting itself, which resulted in an unreliable school nutrition program. After so many years of traveling to Jamaica and seeing the incredible need, I was given the opportunity to help in a long-term endeavor. As is the case in many third world countries, the connection with someone in the first world is a lifeline. Monies from here absolutely help there.
